Best places to work for LGBTQ+ equality

January 31, 2022 – Our Ahold Delhaize U.S. brands Food Lion, Giant Food, Hannaford, Peopod Digital Labs, Retail Business Services, Stop & Shop and The GIANT Company have been recognized as Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality. Our brands have earned perfect scores on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. 

The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars: 

1. Non-discrimination policies across business entities;  
2. Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families;  
3. Supporting an inclusive culture; and, 
4. Corporate social responsibility.
