Update on Ahold Delhaize's cybersecurity incident
Zaandam, October, 13, 2026 – As was shared on October 12, 2026, Ahold Delhaize is experiencing a cybersecurity issue within its network. Our teams are taking steps to assess and mitigate the issue. This resulted in us taking precautionary measures, including taking some systems offline to help protect them.
We recognize that these actions have caused disruption for customers, associates and partners, but protecting our infrastructure in the best interest of our customers, associates and partners is a top priority. Our teams are working with urgency to investigate the incident and restore affected systems safely. As they make progress in assessing and mitigating the issues, we are in the process of starting a controlled re-launch of certain systems.
As part of our response, we are working with relevant internal teams and external cybersecurity experts. We are engaging with the appropriate authorities and other stakeholders as necessary. As the investigation is ongoing, we are not sharing further details that could compromise security measures or interfere with our response efforts. Although our investigation is still ongoing, we have no evidence at this moment that customer and associate data was taken in this cybersecurity incident.
Our brands’ stores across Europe and the United States remain open and are serving customers. The impact of our preventative measures differs per brand. Each local brand is working hard to serve its customers and minimize disruption.
We will provide further updates when appropriate. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused customers and partners.
